A Postdoctoral Fellowship position is readily available in the laboratory of Dr. Wendong Huang in Arthur Riggs Diabetes and Metabolism Research Institute at City of Hope.

The self-motivated Postdoctoral Fellow will work on projects investigating the new pathways and targets in diabetes/obesity and other metabolic diseases. We use genetically engineered mouse models and molecular pharmacology tools to identify novel signaling pathways in metabolism to develop new targets for drug discovery.

Our research interests include:

1) Liver-gut and microbiota crosstalk as metabolic mediators in regulating both normal physiology and pathogenesis.

2) Development of novel drugs to treat MASH, diabetes, PCOS and other metabolic diseases.

· A Ph.D. or M.D. degree in broad biomedical sciences.

· Proficiency in biochemical techniques, molecular biology skills, and cell culture.

· Research experience with in vivo animal models.

· Evidence of scientific rigor and excellence as documented by peer-reviewed publications.

· Good communication skills and fluency in English, both spoken and written.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $34.00 - $37.55 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
