Lead Systems Engineer, Electronic Design Automation Arizona State University SWAPHub Campus: Tempe 105148BR Job Description The Southwest Advanced Prototyping (SWAP) Hub Circuits and Architectures Design and Test Capability Area is hiring an engineer to oversee the usage of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tool flows, computational resources, and develop EDA tool flows for effective use and efficient project execution. This position is funded by the DoD, which requires candidates to be US citizens due to ITAR/Export Control and clearance level activity. Note: SWAP Hub's funding requires that the candidate for this position is a United States citizen or permanent resident, not that they have a work authorization. Salary Range Depends on experience Close Date 04-November-2024 Essential Duties • Overseeing the day-to-day activities related to EDA usage, including helping performers troubleshoot tool flows • Defining efficient EDA tool flows for SWAP Hub projects and core areas for fast and efficient execution of tasks • Interfacing with the license and cloud providers to compile usage and user information, monitoring usage, and projecting usage and cost • Training project and core performers in EDA tool usage and scheduling training sessions with EDA vendors • First-line troubleshooting EDA tool issues • Setting up software for data acquisition, storage, and sharing • Maintaining secure access to circuits IP library Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Information Technology, Engineering or related field AND two years of experience; OR Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering or related field, AND four (4) years of experience; OR, eight (8) years’ experience providing related information technology services; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Desired Qualifications • Knowledge of major EDA tool flows from at least one of the most used vendors: Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens • Knowledge of the Unix environment • Knowledge of predicting circuit behavior, assembling circuit elements, and anticipating chip performance • Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects and assignments • Evidence of effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills • Project management experience • Data management experience • Detail oriented, flexible, self-motivated, and the ability to troubleshoot • Experience writing scientific documents (e.g., patent applications and reports) Working Environment ASU is an inclusive enterprise with a wide variety of work and learning modes, locations, and a commitment to sustainability, innovation, and employee work-life balance.
