Arizona State University Electronics Engineer Prin, Microelectronics Design Manager for Circuits and Architectures SWAPHub Campus: Tempe 105150BR Job Description Arizona State University is hiring for the Department of Defense-funded Southwest Advanced Prototyping (SWAP) Hub located at MacroTechnology Works in ASU’s Research Park. One of eight national hubs, SWAP Hub is part of a larger ecosystem supporting the rapid growth in innovation and microelectronics in the western United States. SWAP Hub works with industry and higher education partners to develop human, physical and digital capabilities and maximize the Department of Defense’s microelectronics security priorities. The SWAP Hub Circuits and Architectures Design and Test Capability Area is hiring a design manager to help design teams and organize, develop, and maintain a library of analog, digital, and RF circuits (IP blocks) for internal and licensed external use. Note: SWAP Hub's funding requires that candidates for this position are United States citizens or a permanent resident, not that they have a work authorization. This position is funded by the DoD, which requires candidates to be US citizens due to ITAR/Export Control and clearance level activity. Salary Range $87,363 - $120,000 per year, DOE Close Date 04-November-2024 Essential Duties Lead the specification, architecture and development of ASU’s intellectual property library in coordination with faculty Lead circuit design and layout reviews with the designers Help train project performers for layout and tapeout of digital, analog, and RF circuits Supervise tapeout activities at the SWAP Hub Develop and manage the technical roadmaps that address customer requirements Develop and manage Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tool flows Develop unit- and system-level test plans covering a variety of operating modes and conditions Develop and maintain training materials on the IP blocks which will include but are not limited to: Designs (schematic, layout, tapeout, pin diagrams, etc.) Tapeout and post-silicon validation procedures Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field AND ten (10) years of engineering or related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Desired Qualifications Circuit and system design experience Experience in taping out digital, analog, and RF circuits at various technology nodes Experience in designing device interface boards (or PCBs) for characterization of the manufactured circuits Experience analyzing/troubleshooting complex analog and digital circuits Experience with one or more of the EDA tool flows (Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens, Ansys, and Keysight ADS) for circuit design and tapeout Ability to work independently and efficiently towards failure analysis and mitigation approaches Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Evidence of effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Experience in work that requires being detail oriented, flexible, self-motivated, and the ability to troubleshoot Experience writing scientific documents (e.g., patent applications and reports) Working Environment ASU is an inclusive enterprise with a wide variety of work and learning modes, locations, and a commitment to sustainability, innovation, and employee work-life balance.
