The University of California, Irvine anticipates a postdoctoral position in theoretical condensed matter physics to study microscopic sources of noise and loss in magnetic systems. The successful applicant will have a strong theoretical physics background in statistical and condensed matter physics as well as computer skills. Knowledge of magnetism, magnetic materials, two level systems, and disordered systems is useful, as is experience with Monte Carlo simulations. The minimum qualification is a Ph.D in physics or a closely related field. Interested candidates should apply online at UC Irvine’s online application system, RECRUIT, located at https://recruit.ap.uci.edu/JPF09311. Questions should be sent to Prof. Clare Yu (
