Summary

Seeking a self-motivated, productive and team oriented post-doctoral associate to drive a project focused on better understanding motor neuron degeneration. The postdoc associate will have access to mouse and zebrafish models to study genetic variants associated with human disease. In addition, human tissue is available to derive iNeurons or iPCS derived neurons for studying these variants.

Job Duties

  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data independently.
  • Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
  • Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
  • Maintains laboratory operations.
  • Supervises research staff.
  • Gives a presentation for departmental journal club, research talk, or symposium talk.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Computational Sciences, Computational Biology, Structural Biology, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics, or related disciplines. May also include Ph.D. in Biology or Biomedical Sciences in combination with an M.S. or extensive multidisciplinary experience in one of the above quantitative fields.
