The Rogers Lab at the Cedars-Sinai Smidt Heart Institute is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scientist to join our team. A significant area of research in the Rogers Lab focuses on: a) the development of next-generation biological therapeutics, b) the molecular and cellular basis of disease and tissue regeneration, c) and translational studies using preclinical models of human disease. The overarching goal of the lab is to discover and develop clinically-realistic therapeutic solutions for diseases refractory to conventional approaches. The Postdoctoral Scientist will create and lead impactful research to achieve the research objectives of the lab.
Working independently but in close cooperation and in consultation with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientists, the Postdoctoral Scientist will perform routine and sophisticated laboratory procedures throughout training period. May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols. Analyzes and interprets data. May assist in preparation of grant proposals. Participates in publications and presentations as author or co-author. Not responsible for generating grant funds.
Educational Requirements:
Doctorate degree (MD, PhD, DVM) in the area directly related to field of research specialization.
Experience:
1 year experience acquired thorough technical and theoretical knowledge of research project andobjectives during one to five (1-5) year post-doctoral appointment
Should have written and published scientific papers.
Has demonstrated aptitude to ask research questions and successfully published papers and/or had grants funded.
Physical Demands:
Able to perform moderate lifting.
Able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
Able to read papers and online documents.
Able to operate standard office equipment.
Able to exercise physical ability and perspective acuity to satisfactorily perform essential job functions.
